Metro Exodus is the third title in the series which now has been delayed from its previously planned release to Q1 2019.
Metro Exodus is a story-driven first person shooter that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. However, it appears 4A made a decision to delay the release date by a few short months to ensure the game is up to snuff.
Metro developer 4A Games and Deep Silver, the publisher of Metro Last Light and Metro Exodus, acknowledged in a joint statement that the delay was "disappointing news" for Metro fans but said that Metro Exodus' development was still going well.
"[Deep Silver has] been constantly reviewing the games progress to ensure that [they] deliver a product that gamers and fans of the Metro series want and deserve, as well as keeping an eye on announcements from [their] competitors products". For the first time in the Metro series, Exodus will feature an open world. There is more information to be found in the full interview, which you can check out above, but as it stands, players should be excited to know that Exodus is planning to be a huge game. Based on the novel written by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, the game takes place in a post-apocalyptic Moscow where the landscape is filled with radiation and mutants.
We just have to wait for the fair in Los Angeles to be able to see Metro Exodus again in action, the game is now awaited for the beginning of 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and Windows PC.
