Warriors upgrade Stephen Curry after he 'did everything' in practice

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant looks to pass the ball under pressure from Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon during the second half of an NBA basketball game Saturday Jan. 20 2018 in Houston

Warriors GM Bob Myers says it's 'conceivable' that Stephen Curry plays in Game 1 vs. Pelicans

Stephen Curry wasn't present.

New Orleans' third-year head coach joked Saturday after wrapping up a Round 1 sweep over Portland that his only focus in facing Golden State is "I just want to outcoach Steve Kerr".

Curry went through a full-contact practice for the first time since suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his right knee in a 106-94 win against the Atlanta Hawks March 23.

Curry was ruled out before every game of the Western Conference quarterfinals against the Spurs. He has ramped up activity and participated in scripted practices in hopes to slowly gear him up into playing shape. "I would say he's questionable for Game 1. But it was very positive". It will be his third and final test before the Warriors determine whether to give him the green light to take the court Saturday.

The Golden State Warriors may have Steph Curry back for the start of their second-round series against the New Orleans Pelicans, after all.

With Curry in the lineup this past season, the Warriors went 41-10 while averaging 120.4 points per 100 possessions, which would be the best offensive rating over the past 20 seasons. Again, they start Andre so having him in there and even other line-ups.

The Pelicans lost three of their four regular season matchups against Golden State.
