Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the first half before the Egypt worldwide netted his 30th goal in the Premier League with a superb header over Asmir Begovic. They will be crowned Premier League champions if Manchester United fail to beat West Brom on Sunday afternoon. "I don't care about the rest".

Christian Eriksen pulled a goal back for Tottenham shortly before half-time when City were leading 2-0 but Spurs failed to build on their momentum at the start of the second half.

Cristian Eriksen had beeen awarded the goal but Kane was adamant that got the final touch on the Dane's ball into the box.

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah, Kane's competitor for the Premier League Golden Boot, took to Twitter to share his disbelief at the Premier League's ruling and found support from quite a few of his club mates.

Salah derided the Premier League's ruling on Twitter and was backed up by several of his Liverpool teammates.

But one bookmaker took this one step further during Saturday's match at Wembley.

All aboard! The Harry Kane "phantom goal" banter bus has another passenger.

Needless to say, those who put money on Kane to score first or anytime with Paddy Power were loving it...

Kane, however, has an extra game over Salah as Spurs have played 32 matches while Liverpool have played 33.

Kane now trails Salah by five goals with five league games left to play, and will hope to decrease the deficit against Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday (AEST).

Kane has been the top scorer in the Premier League for the past two seasons, and he will be determined to make it three in a row.

And with Salah having played for the Giallorossi after his ill-fated spell at Chelsea, it's possible that the Italian club was simply throwing it's weight behind the Egyptian in the Golden Boot race with this video.
