The said, "I've checked on her through Mike just saying, man, I mean, I know they've had a tough year with all that".

Both country stars are set to perform at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards, which will mark something of a comeback for Underwood as her first public appearance after suffering a major injury to her face and wrist a year ago.

Chris Stapleton has the most nominations for the night.

The song is the first Underwood will release under her new recording contract with Universal Music Group Nashville.

Luke Bryan is all set to reunite with Carrie Underwood!

The 53rd annual ACM Awards will be air on CBS on April 15, Sunday.

Bryan believes the song is especially meaningful in wake of the current politics in the USA and the devastating Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas last October.

Reigning Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert, a former Tishomingo resident, received four nominations. After a more than a decade spent with Sony Music Nashville, Underwood switched to Universal Music Group previous year. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have their first nomination together as Vocal Duo of the year.

The Academy of Country Music Awards will debut "ACM Flashbacks" to honor classic country music hits and the artists whose music continues to influence musicians and fans alike.

According to CMT.com, ACM Awards published on March 7 that the performers listed are Jason Aldean, Bebe Rexha, Florida Georgia Line, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Thomas Rhett, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Kane Brown, Kelly Clarkson, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town, Jon Pardi and many more.

It's taken five months for Carrie Underwood's face to heal after she fell at her home and needed 40-50 stitches, but she's finally ready to put herself out there again - and she'll be doing just that with a performance of her new single "Cry Pretty" at the ACM Awards. Celebrity presenters will include David Boreanaz, Sam Elliot, Ashton Kutcher, Rebecca Romijn, and Lindsey Vonn.
