Airtel has recently launched a complete 360 degree advertisement campaign claiming to offer the T20 IPL matches FREE and LIVE and is only available to Airtel subscribers. The 4G budget smartphone from these brands comes with cashback offers from Airtel bundled with the plans including data and unlimited calling. To become eligible for the offer, a user will have to upgrade to 4G smartphone from a 2G/3G mobile and would need to remain on the same Airtel network.

While on one hand Reliance Jio accuses incumbent operators of milking the sector using borrowed money, older players like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea blame free voice and data offering by the Mukesh Ambani firm for bleeding the sector. Moreover, customers can check whether they can avail the free data by entering their mobile number at and clicking on Check Eligibility. The 30 GB FREE data benefit will be credited within 24 hours of making the claim. "We believe this will help millions of our customers to fulfill their aspiration of owning a 4G smartphone by making the transition more rewarding".

As a part of its network expansion program - Project LEAP, Airtel announced its plans to add more than 9500 new mobile broadband sites in FY 2018-19, along with an addition of 4000 KMs of optic fiber, in Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh Circle.
