Cobra Kai: Karate Kid Spinoff's Full-Length Trailer Reveals Premiere Date

The Karate Kid rivalry is back on in first full Cobra Kai trailer

'Karate Kid': Watch the Trailer for the YouTube Spinoff 'Cobra Kai'

The series will follow Johnny Lawrence's (William Zabka) journey to redeem himself after his crippling defeat to Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) 30 years ago.

The series seems to flip the two men's roles. (Boy, that crane kick really did a number on him, huh?) Meanwhile, his good-guy rival Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) is still riding high off his '80s glory days, running a high-end vehicle dealership and karate-chopping prices in cheesy TV ads.

YouTube has released an official trailer for Cobra Kai. Cobra Kai will run for 10 episodes and premiere exclusively on YouTube Red on May 2.

Ralph Macchio and William Zabka are at it again.

But Johnny gets inspired when he stands up for a bullied teen - OK, technically, he beats up a few teenagers - and decides to reopen his old karate dojo, Cobra Kai, to train a new generation.

Thirty-four years have passed, but the rivalry between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence remains in the trailer for YouTube Red series "Cobra Kai."

The classic 1984 film "Karate Kid" pitted young Daniel - recently new to the ways of karate - up against a much bigger and experienced Russo in the original movie. Cobra Kai is produced by Overbrook Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television. In addition, a remake, also titled The Karate Kid, was released in 2010 starring Jaden Smith, Taraji P. Henson, and Jackie Chan.

Are you looking forward to catching up with the iconic '80s characters?
