The Broncos will send Siemian and a late-round 2018 pick to the Vikings while Minnesota will send back a 2019 draft pick.
Many thought, just like Minnesota, Denver would go hard after the signature of Cousins, but instead, they signed Keenum before Cousins had completed his own deal with the Vikings.
The Vikings convinced Sloter, who spent the 2017 preseason in Denver as a rookie, to join their practice squad before the regular season and signed him to the active roster last September.
"I'm here for Kirk".
It looked like the chapter for Siemian in Denver had ended, and the trade opens up a new role for Siemian, who enters the a year ago of his contract.
Once free agency started, the Broncos went looking for a new quarterback.
Siemian, 26, was named the starting quarterback out of training camp each of the past two seasons.
"To have a quality backup that, knock on wood, if (Siemian) had to step in, we'd feel very confident that he could in and play for us and keep us in the right direction". When he found out about the trade, he was vacationing in Mexico with his fiancee, and the news was warmly welcomed. "For me to be here with an organization that's knocking on the door of some really, really great things", Siemian said, "I think there's a lot of people who would kill to be in this situation".
