Eagles will host the Vikings for week one of the 2018 season

NFC North gets a makeover during frenzied start to free agency

Philadelphia Eagles had the best response to Vikings' anti-green St. Patrick's Day tweet

After the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots to earn their first Super Bowl victory ever, it was nearly assured they would host the league's inaugural game of the 2018 season.

That means the Vikings will return to the scene of their defensive debacle, their Purple Poseurs playoff, their Miracle Meltdown, where the Eagles defeated the Vikings in humiliating fashion by a score of 38-7.

The Saints will have both the Eagles and Vikings on the schedule for 2018, with the game against the Eagles to be played in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and the game against the Vikings set for U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Sure enough, ten hours into that period, they had reached a two-year, $36 million guaranteed deal with the former Vikings star.

The 2017 National Football League season just concluded a couple of months ago.

Outside of the NFC Championship storyline, the Vikings will have Kirk Cousins at quarterback.

The game could very well be the toughest test the Eagles face next season.

"He bet on himself several times and won and those things are really important to me", Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said. Siemian said. "There's so many dimensions you can grow as a player, and that's what keeps it exciting".

While the main focus in the NFL at the moment seems to be on free agency and the upcoming NFL Draft, it's tough not to look ahead over this potential meeting with Philadelphia and Minnesota come September if the new reports end up being true.

Unfortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, that game won't take place.

"All I can do is what is right in front of me", Cousins said.
