Indian two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has launched its all-new 2018 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V bike in the country. Up front, the motorcycle gets a sharp headlight with LED DRLs. The RTR 160 4V is available in three colours, Racing Red, Metallic blue, and Knight Black. While Apache RTR series - 160, 180, 200 4V will be positioned under naked (without fairings) categories, the super premium bike RR 310 will be positioned under the super sports category. The Apache RTR 160 uses telescopic front forks, and a monoshock rear shock absorber. The stepped-up seat design and tapered rear cowl give the bike an aggressive look.

The new RTR 160 4V, which is described as the most powerful 160-cc bike, will also be available in fuel injection variant at a price of ₹89,990. The engine produces 14.8Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Speaking at the launch of the new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Mr. KN Radhakrishnan, President & Chief Executive Officer, TVS Motor Company, said, "In over 10 years of its existence, the TVS Apache RTR series has created phenomenal customer delight". The motorcycle also gets ram-air intake placed underneath the tank shrouds. The 2018 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is based on a completely new 4-valve platform, giving it new styling and design, new suspension and chassis and significant updates to the engine as well. Other key features of the motorcycle include a fully-digital instrument cluster with lap-timer and a front petal disc brake, while the rear disc brake comes as an optional extra. TVS also offers optional Pirelli tyres for track-focused performance. A testimony to the racing legacy of the TVS Apache RTR series, the new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, according to the company, is the most powerful 160cc motorcycle. The new Apache RTR 160 4V rivals the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Suzuki Gixxer, Honda CB Hornet 160R and Yamaha FZ-S FI V2.0.
