The pop star - currently moonlighting as an "Idol" judge - locked lips with contestant Benjamin Glaze during his audition after he admitted he'd never been kissed - and now the troubadour says he really wishes she hadn't.
"I wanted to save it for my first relationship", he said.
Bryan then asked Glaze, "have you kissed a girl and liked it?" referencing Perry's first big hit. Glaze kissed her on the cheek, but she asked for another kiss.
"Would I have done it if she said, 'Would you kiss me?' No, I would have said no", he continued.
Perry, 33, wasn't having that, insisting Glaze walk over to the judges' table - which he did, tentatively - so she could give him a smooch.
The New York Times reached out to Glaze, who acknowledged he was "a tad bit uncomfortable" and that he wanted to "save" his first kiss for his first relationship: "I wanted it to be special". The "Roar" singer noticed the young man and candidly told him he could come hang out with her anytime.
"I think you were a bit rushed and I think that's because I sped up your BPM of the heartbeat", the singer said.
On a repeat attempt, the poor lad fell to the floor in shock when Katy turned quickly and smacked a kiss right on his lips.
Glaze, who did not make it to the next round of competition, told the Times that he did not feel sexually harassed by Perry and said he's grateful that the moment led to more publicity for his music. "I know a lot of guys would be like, 'Heck yeah!' But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately". The comeback includes a new line-up of judges - Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Katy Perry.
"Katy! You didn't", Glaze shouted with a grin on his face when he returned to his place to start the audition. "I wanted it to be special".
Representatives for ABC also haven't commented publicly on the incident.
