New season of 'American Idol' starts with a bang!



Country singing sensation Luke Bryan, pop icon Katy Perry, and music mogul Lionel Richie are slated to serve as the new judges on American Idol.

Season two finalist and CT resident Kimberley Locke gives us a whole recap.

Trevor Holmes, 27, Thousand Oaks, CA: A construction worker who's had a crush on Katy Perry for years, he bowled the judges over as soon as he walked in: Luke immediately dubbed him a "dreamboat" while Katy said "You're so hot.are you engaged?"

Our Madison affiliate WKOW 27 News sent her to the front of the line in Chicago for the national auditions, where show producers sent her to Nashville to sing in front of the new American Idol judges.

Sunday night marked a monumental return for singing competition American Idol.

The stars of different genres also have differing generational perspectives, but each one can speak to genuine secrets of success that only come with long, hard work and lots of rejection. While the zombie apocalypse drama last week eked out its worst numbers in seven years-you'd have to go all the way back to the fifth episode (Nov. 28, 2010) in order to find an installment of "Walking Dead" that averaged a lower demo delivery than last Sunday's 2.9-AMC's flagship series still beats out everything else on the tube in the target audience. "I can't kiss a girl without being in a relationship". While Lionel wasn't sure about alpacas and Luke had no idea what "wig" meant, Katy knew exactly what Noah was talking about. However, Lionel apparently couldn't get Ron out of his head following the audition, so the panel called Ron back into the room about an hour later and revealed he'd by flying to Hollywood for a second chance.

"It all started when I was about 7 years old".

While Pooley's focus is on the music, even he and the American Idol band cant help get emotional during touching moments. He earns a golden ticket, and Katy tells him that her wig was snatched by his audition. When it was Layla's solo turn, she sang "Who's Loving You" (Jackson Five version). In the words of Katy Perry: "Wig: snatched!" Ron also plays guitar, and he offers up his spot-on James Bay impression while belting "Let It Go". The judges are blown away and he gets his golden ticket.

It's the same feedback she got almost 10 years ago, when she made it to Hollywood on the show.

Zack D'onofrio, 16, and Dennis Lorenzo, 26, are the final two to make it through.
