Bluepoint Games has been known as one of, if not the, best developer studio for porting games to other consoles for nearly a decade now, but you might say that they've taken everything to another level with Shadow of the Colossus' PlayStation 4 remake. In the interview, Digital Foundry asked whether the expanded art team that worked on the game would be working on an original title for their next project. Be that as it may, the same developers Bluepoint's Next Remake is going to be something much bigger than Shadow of Colossus remake. Bluepoint has yet to reveal (or even hint at) what that next game may be, but the developer says "We're really excited about our next project and we think you will be too when you find out what it is". He explained that the Shadow of the Colossus remake served as "a great point" to grow the studio's art team. "So now our next step is, let's improve the art pipeline, let's improve the engine, let's improve workflow for artists, let's grow on the art side some more to handle our next project because it's a bit bigger", said Thrush.
The task of remaking Shadow of the Colossus was a enormous one for Bluepoint, which needed to expand its art team to fulfill its obligations for the project.
Unsurprisingly, Thrush stopped short of confirming what the game actually is, although he made it pretty clear we have reason to be excited for whatever they're remaking.
"With Shadow [of the Colossus], the studio most definitely grew in both number of people and skill level - and so we continue to grow and expand and look at areas of weakness", said Peter Dalton, Bluepoint's technical director.
Bluepoint did not reveal any details on the next game that it will remake. As you might have guessed, it's going to be another remake. One of most commonly thrown around games on the Internet since the above news broke has been the cult-classic, Demon's Souls. Now, this could have something to do with the fact that after the game's servers were shut down, multiple gamers took it upon themselves to create private servers for the game, something Sony and co. wouldn't be very fond of. Will Bluepoint or Sony make an official announcement at E3 2018?
