In the Netflix series that we mentioned earlier, Tiffany Haddish will voice the lead character named "Tuca" in the series.
Later in 2017, she became the first African American female stand-up comedian to host "Saturday Night Live", the long-running sketch comedy series on NBC television.
Since the first MTV Movie Awards in 1992, only 11 women have hosted, and only six hosts have been people of color. Haddish shared the exciting news in an Instagram video. It's gonna be off the chain, and you know why? "I didn't know how I was going to get here, but I got here, '" she told Vulture last month.
Haddish became a breakout star last year after starring in the hit comedy, Girls Trip, and now the sky is the limit for the 38-year-old. Haddish cried as Oprah praised her accomplishments. In addition to Girls Trip, SNL, and her bestselling book The Last Black Unicorn, she is set to star opposite Tracy Morgan in the TBS sitcom The Last OG, and alongside Kevin Hart in Universal's Night School, premiering later this year.
The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards will air June 18th with nominations being announced in the coming weeks.
