Boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) fans are excited over the news that undefeated boxing champion Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr.is prepared for a comeback, even in the octagon.
Buster Douglas was only like 42-1 [against Mike Tyson].
We're now well into the month of February and still, we have virtually no idea what the future holds for the sport of MMA's biggest star, Conor McGregor.
It did not take long for McGregor to come up with a response, and he posted a photo of the UFC 202 fight with Diaz, where he is shown elbowing Diaz unedited with the accompanying caption "A real elbow in a real fight".
"Conor's going to kick his legs out; he doesn't have any chance". Diaz then joined in by posting a photo of him on top of McGregor throwing punches. If I saw Floyd Mayweather across from CM Punk, I'd be like, 'This is not real life!'
So given that Mayweather is clearly still sensitive about certain subjects he might be upset to hear that it is rapidly becoming a matter of when, not if, a fighter from Thailand surpasses the historic 50-0 mark he reached by beating an Irish debutant called Conor McGregor.
Rogan had begun discussing the possibility of Mayweather fighting a lesser opponent before being informed of the uncle's comment about possibly fighting CM Punk, at which point the conversation shifted. I say this because Floyd's broken his hands multiple times.
He's had some serious surgeries on his hands. Rogan did acknowledge the greatness of Mayweather in the boxing ring, but also pointed out factors that will burden the latter in MMA.
"But he hasn't had hand problems in a while, so maybe he did fix it, and his hands looked f-king great against Conor".
McGregor lost to Mayweather in a boxing match previous year but there's been talk a rematch could be on, this time in the Octagon.
CM Punk is slightly larger than Floyd Mayweather is right now, so Punk may have to cut his weight to satisfy Mayweather's demands.
"You could kind of do that one and fit it in on the night of his real fight".
