Kingdom Hearts III Will Have A Monsters Inc

New Kingdom Hearts III trailer shows Monsters Inc. release date at E3

Kingdom Hearts III – will it be a monster hit

There's not much in the way of story spoilers at this point, although the rest of the trailer gave enough time to show off the new weapons and skills Sora will use at some point in the game.

Now, Square Enix has dished out a bunch of renders and screenshots showing off monster Sora, Goofy, and Donald Duck in more detail.

Square Enix also confirmed at D23 Disney Expo that Kingdom Hearts III will include a Monsters Inc-themed world, bringing the number of confirmed worlds in the game to seven. Fright team all-stars Mike and Sulley lend their scaring talents and special combination attacks against their enemies.

Check out the D23 trailer below and tell us what you think. This trailer had gameplay footage as well, but the only story-related information we got out of it was a quick scene of Riku and Mickey at The Dark Margin (i.e., the creepy dark beach) where Riku leaves behind his broken Way to the Dawn keyblade for another version of himself to find.

The "mysterious exchange" mentioned in the final paragraph happens at the end of the theme song trailer. I'm not all that familiar with the series so it could make sense to some, but if not perhaps it's a tease for some sort of multiplayer mode?

While Square Enix didn't reveal an exact date, Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to be released for PS4 and Xbox One sometime in 2018.

NOTE: As stated in the first trailer, the game will eventually be translated to English.

The video below features Sora and the gang exploring the world of "Monsters Inc." in one of the chapters of "Kingdom Hearts 3".

"Don't assume your dreams are just fantasy". Which other world would you like to see make an appearance?
