Alexis Sanchez has been awarded jail term for 16 months

That's according to former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp.

ALEXIS SANCHEZ HAS accepted a 16-month prison sentence for committing tax fraud during his time at Barcelona.

Sanchez joined the Red Devils ontransfer deadline day in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving in the opposite direction to Arsenal.

The Chile global scored his first goal for the Red Devils from the penalty spot in the 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford in the Premier League last weekend.

It hasn't quite been a ideal game for Sanchez as he has at times struggled to keep possession, losing it more often on Saturday than any other Red Devils player has all season. "It is simply because nobody can get near enough to get the ball off him!"

"When Sanchez is at his best he is on a mission, running with the ball and terrorising defenders".

And much to the Chilean's relief, he tapped home the rebound after Jonas Lossl had saved his initial effort from the penalty spot to open his United account after joining from Arsenal on reportedly the biggest ever contract in Premier League history.

"There is a lot that happens with Alexis Sanchez just being on the field, just wandering about".

"The centre-back has to have an eye on him as well".

While he enjoyed a fine debut, Sanchez failed to make an impact on his Premier League bow for United in a disappointing midweek 2-0 defeat to Tottenham. "It will not take him long to win over their fans, too".

Manchester United are now second in the Premier League table and 13 points behind leaders Manchester City in Jose Mourinho's second campaign in charge.
