Home & Away star Jessica Falkholt's uncle pays tribute at her funeral after dying three weeks on from horror crash that

Jessica, who spent three weeks in a coma in St George Hospital, was taken off life support just one day after a joint funeral held for her parents and sister.

St George Hospital has confirmed that the 29-year-old actress passed away on Wednesday morning, weeks after the horror Boxing Day auto crash, which also took the lives of Jessica's mother, father and sister.

Craig Whitall, who was at the wheel of the 4WD that collided with their vehicle in the head-on crash, was also killed in the inferno.

'Jessica's determination and strength of character shone through as she clinged to life for three weeks before succumbing to her injuries, ' Mr Ponticello said.

"We look forward to putting this disgusting period behind us, while cherishing the memories we have with our friend, Jess", they said.

Falkholt's white casket, adorned with pink and red roses, was carried out of the church by loved ones before it was blessed by Father Paul Crowley.

White doves were released for the 29-year-old following today's private funeral at St Mary's Catholic Church in Concord in front of hundreds of friends and relatives.

Her cousin Cathy Randazzo said Jessica was "vibrant, well mannered and kind-natured with a positive attitude to life".

Jessica's family have requested donations to Australian Cancer Research in lieu of flowers.

Falkholt has been remembered as a "gorgeous soul" and talented actor who was a pleasure to work with.

In photos that were obtained by DailyMail, Falkholts loved-ones released doves in honour of the late star. Olivia Deeble, who worked onset as Jessica's sister Raffy also showed up to bid her costar farewell.

Home and Away stars Pia Miller, Jackson Heywood, Philippa Northeast and Isabella Giovinazzo were among the mourners who turned out for Jessica's funeral. He too died in the collision.

Following the tragedy, it emerged that Whitall, 50, was a habitual traffic offender with 60 serious traffic convictions to his name, including at least 10 convictions for driving while disqualified.
