The tabloid-style book Fire and Fury by journalist Michael Wolff, published this month, led to speculation about Trump's mental fitness for office.

He received a 30/30 on the test which would have detected any serious mental impairments, including alzheimer's disease.

But Dr Jackson said he has "absolutely no concerns" about his cognitive abilities, cholesterol and cardiac health, among other things.

Mr. Trump's doctor said he is a healthy person.

The appointment lasted four hours and involved 12 consultants.

The president, like most Americans, would benefit from a "diet that is lower and fat and carbohydrates", along with more exercise, the doctor said.

"I will just say for the record, Senator Graham spoke up in a way that I respect very much, countering what the President had said about countries in Africa", Durbin said. On Friday, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) had referred to African nations as "shithole countries", lamented that the US couldn't get more Norwegian immigrants instead and said Haitians should be sent out of the country.

Jackson said he did not think the president needed cognitive testing based on medical guidelines - but added the 30-question Montreal Cognitive Assessment at Trump's request.

"He actively asked me to include that in it so we did", Jackson said Tuesday while speaking to reporters about the results of the president's physical.

Jackson said he would consult with nutritionists and work out an exercise program for the president.

"I've found no reason whatsoever to think the President has any issues whatsoever with his thought processes", Jackson said.

The doctor said a recent incident in which Trump slurred some words while making public remarks may have been the result of Sudafed that the doctor had given the president to take on the previous day.

"He has incredibly good genes; it's just the way God made him".

Donald Trump also doesn't mind a bit of KFC, either. In his final tweet on the matter, Donald Jr. cited David Martosko of the Daily Mail to push back against allegations that the president has mental issues, writing, "Now can we test the media for #TrumpDerangementSyndrome?" Tests of the liver, kidney and thyroid were all normal.

Trump is the first president to undergo the memory screening. Jackson has worked at the White House since 2006 and participated in several presidential physicals, overseeing two of President Barack Obama's exams. If people take statins, their calcium scores go up because statins help plaques heal and leave behind calcium-containing scar tissue.

But hundreds of people tweeting with the #GirtherMovement hashtag are accusing the USA president, 71, of lying about his weight.
