Yup, the TV show will focus on Special Agent Sydney "Syd" Burnett (Gabrielle Union) - the sister of Lawrence's character, Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett.
The report claims that the project from film producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Doug Belgrad, Primary Wave Entertainment and Sony Pictures TV, had a commitment for pilot production. There were rumors that the two would return for Bad Boys III (Bad Boys For Life), but a year ago, Lawrence told EW that he doesn't "think it's going to happen". He was the creative executive on the 1995 original movie, which established Lawrence and Smith as feature stars. The series will be wrapping next year after airing on the network for four season with a two-hour movie on the network in 2018.
This series does not qualify with Jerry Bruckheimer TV's overall deal at CBS TV Studios given that it is based on a pre-existing Bruckheimer property.
