Oprah for President: Twitter erupts

Trump Says He'd Beat Oprah, but Polls Tell a Different Story

Two of the billionaire businesswoman Oprah Winfrey's closest friends told CNN on Monday that she was "actively thinking" about running for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination in 2020.

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he would beat Oprah Winfrey in a potential head-to-head presidential election in 2020.

"So if that's true, I just want to say: Oprah, you will never be president!"

Trumps says that Oprah will be a lot of fun, noting that he knows Oprah well and has been on her show, "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in the past.

While not mentioning Donald Trump by name, it was clear she was sending a message to the current state of politics and culture in the United States. And it was very nice.

'Oprah, I love Oprah.

"I don't think at this point she is actually considering it", King said.

Speculation about Winfrey as a potential Democratic Party candidate in 2020 was revived after her rousing speech on January 7 at the Golden Globes, where she was honored with a special award.

Fuck it. The 2020 race will be Trump against Oprah, with cameo appearances from Mark Zuckerberg and Kanye West.

Winfrey's presidential history also extends to the previous administration.

It comes after Winfrey's longterm partner Stedman Graham revealed that she would "absolutely" run for president. Over 30-plus years, she became the face of television talk shows, starred and produced feature films, and began her own network.

And after some pushing and prodding from her co-anchors, King said she agreed. People are lining up to support someone for president without her having issued one policy statement.

The following day, first daughter Ivanka Trump tweeted: "Just saw Oprah's empowering & inspiring speech at last night's GoldenGlobes".

Winfrey, who is a strong supporter of LGBT rights, campaigned for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, and endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016.

King reiterated that statement Tuesday morning: "I absolutely don't think that her position has changed". "It's not happening. She has no intention of running", the source said.

Oprah first gained national fame with her TV talk show, which often focused on self-improvement and touched on previously taboo subjects like incest, rape, eating disorders and depression.
