The story surrounding the future of Chilean global Sanchez was one of the talking points of the summer transfer window, with all of Bayern Munich, PSG, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City having expressed an interest in the 29-year-old.

United are leading the race for Alexis Sanchez.

'Let's say in the summer we have three targets - a defender, a midfielder and an attacking player.

'Normally we would try to improve our squad in the summer and try to make every department stronger.

"If in the winter market you do something, you have to do something that stops you to do it again in the summer". OK, if on the table is a fantastic opportunity, you fight for that fantastic opportunity.

United have always been linked with French striker Griezmann who plays for Atletico Madrid, and Real Madrid's Welsh wizard Bale.

Sanchez is on the verge of completing a move to Old Trafford from the Emirate Stadium.

"When I don't start it's quite amusing for me to see other people on the other side acting like victims when they're not the victims".

Arsenal have done all they can to keep hold of Sanchez but have now made a decision to cash in on him to avoid losing the forward for free when his contract expires at the end of the season.

United have stolen a march because City, who came close to signing Sanchez back in the summer, have refused to pay more than their opening offer of £20m and are reluctant to pay a £5m fee to the player's agent.

Chilean outlet El Mercurio claims Sanchez will earn £350,000 a week at Old Trafford with a £35million move to United nearing completion.

Jose Mourinho said on Friday: "Sanchez is an Arsenal player, I don't know but probably this weekend he is going to defend Arsenal colours so I don't think it's correct to say things about Alexis Sanchez". 'It's a very important difference of points.
