Get ready for some serious binge-watching because the Emmy Award-winning medical drama ER is set to debut exclusively on Hulu today.
The news comes after Hulu confirmed that it will team with Clooney on a TV adaptation of Joseph Heller's Catch-22, which will mark the 56-year-old actor's anticipated return to a TV regular role since ER.
The longstanding streaming drought is finally over for one of the most popular network dramas of the modern era. The series was produced by Constant c Productions and Amblin Television in association with Warner Bros.
ER was the longest running medical drama on primetime television. The show premiered back in 1994 and was the most-nominated drama in Emmy Award history.
John Wells, the executive producer of ER, revealed that the final episode of the series was inspired by the death of his niece.
In a statement about the project, Clooney said: "It was such an honor to be a part of this show". I was lucky to have worked with so many writers, actors and directors all at the top of their game.
Incidentally, Hulu just recently made another announcement regarding Clooney.
Between this, and, Hulu seems poised to position itself as the streaming service of choice for people who really miss the TV they watched in the '90s. He'll play Colonel Cathcart on the Paramount Television and Anonymous Content show.
