According to the Kazakh diplomat, the UN Security Council stressed that North Korea and all other member states must strictly abide by all Security Council resolutions. He has done far more for us than they ever have for any American president. Marcotte never got into discussing North Korea's totalitarian politics with the pair, and a language barrier prevented him from learning too much about their personal lives.

The online edition of the Rodong Sinmun, the mouthpiece of the North's Workers' Party of Korea, called Thursday on South Korea to cease all military activities conducted with foreign powers - alluding to the USA - in hostility toward its own race.

Trump, however, declined to confirm whether or not he had spoken with Kim, Efe news reported. He told reporters in Seoul on Wednesday that he's open to meeting with Kim to resolve the North Korean nuclear standoff, although he said the success of such a summit must be guaranteed before the meeting can be realized. As of now, the figure skating pair - Ryom Tae Ok and Kim Ju Sik - are the only North Korean athletes to have qualified for the Pyeongchang Olympics, but they actually failed to confirm their registration for the games before the deadline.

For his part, added the statement, "President Moon informed Trump about the outcome of discussions between North Korea and South Korea last January 9th and thanked the U.S. president for his influential leadership to make these conversations possible". It announced it had postponed its joint military exercises with the United States, an annual event that North Korea believes encroaches on their sovereignty, earlier this month. Any threat to the snow and ice spectacular could also endanger a huge U.S. delegation led by Vice President Mike Pence. "And I know more about wedges than any human being that's lived".

As Trump appears to soften his line toward North Korea, the White House is arguing that the talks between the North and South are a direct result of the President's saber rattling.

Before an assembly of 250 domestic and foreign media personnel, President Moon Jae-in expounded upon his vision for South Korea's 2018 on January 10. Plus, the International Olympic Committee will most likely extend "wild card" spots to North Korean athletes to allow more of them to compete in the games. "If I weren't involved, they wouldn't be talking about Olympics right now", he said.

South Korea should not repeat past failures where seemingly vigorous talks fell apart and ties froze in a flash, he said.

Very little is publicly known about Kim and Ryom's background or their lives in North Korea. It's a marked difference from when South Korea last hosted the Olympics in 1988.

"The two leaders underscored the importance of continuing the maximum pressure campaign against North Korea".

Yet most observers still believe that even the toughest sanctions will not force Kim to give up his nuclear arsenal. The South should respond to the North's honest efforts toward easing tensions, it urged. That would be a great thing for the world.
