Dark Souls Remastered was also rumored to contain changes to the covenant system, leading to support for six people online to make the system "run more smoothly".

On PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and PC, Dark Souls Remastered will offer upscaled 4K resolution and 60 FPS framerate.

Why all the resolution talk?

Update: A press release sent after this story went live confirmed that Dark Souls Remastered will be out on PS4, Steam, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on May 25, 2018 and will be priced at $39.99.

Bandai Namco has revealed an incredible box set for all three Dark Souls games, but it's only for Japan and it costs the equivalent of £330.

Dark Souls, an intricate and arcane work of dark fantasy pits players against a world of demonic creatures, is widely regarded as one of the best video games of all time. Bandai Namco has announced that the Dark Souls Remastered release date is May 25, 2018.

Nintendo hasn't confirmed whether or not a Nintendo Direct will air today, but Kotaku seems pretty confident in its report.

It is also rumored that Rockstar Games are looking to bring two well renowned titles in GTA V and Red Dead Redemption to the Nintendo Switch. It includes the three games and is exclusive to PS4, but ships with a bunch of delectable extras suitable for any hardcore Dark Souls fan.

While the Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered is slightly improved graphically over the previous Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, it's not a huge leap. Dark Souls II was already given the remaster treatment for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 back in 2014, under the subtitle Scholar of the First Sin.
