Marvel is ready to make a solo movie for Black Widow

Marvel's Standalone 'Black Widow' Movie Gains Momentum With Jac Schaeffer Writing

Marvel President Kevin Feige met with several candidates before tapping Schaeffer, reported Variety.

Schaeffer has previously written the screenplay for Disney's Olaf's Frozen Adventure and this year's Nasty Women, the forthcoming all-female Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake starring Hathaway and Rebel Wilson.

Schaeffer is an up and coming scribe who broke out with her Black List script "The Shower", a comedy about an alien invasion during a baby shower which caught the eye of Anne Hathaway, who quickly attached herself to star in the pic. While the news has already created a huge wave of excitement among the fans of the scarlet-haired badass assassin, speculations about the movie being an excellent opportunity for the Marvel cinematic universe to enter the R-rated territory have also emerged. After years and years of intense demand from fans, ScarJo's beloved Avenger will now get her very own movie and with talk of a possible R-rating to accompany it, people couldn't be more excited. If you remember, in the first Avengers, during the Battle of New York, Natasha tells Clint, "Just like Budapest, all over again." . We were never given any context afterward. However, the Paddington 2 actor sounded positive about his other co-actors such as Emma Thompson, whom he called a "genius".

Hopefully Schaeffer can come up with something compelling enough to get this one officially greenlit. The film also stars Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautisa, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Rudd, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Hiroyuki Sanada, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, Benicio Del Toro, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, and Josh Brolin.
