Klopp a closed book when asked about early Keita arrival

There have been conflicting reports about Naby Keita's Liverpool move

Liverpool Who knows what to believe

The RB Leipzig midfielder was originally supposed to officially become a Liverpool player in the summer, with the Bundesliga outfit determined to keep hold of Keita in order to secure Champions League football next season.

"My understanding is there is nothing to say", he replied when asked whether Keita could join early.

It's a fee the Reds could easily afford following the departure of Philippe Coutinho and Keita's quality could come in handy as Jurgen Klopp's side push to finish in the top four.

Keita is also said to favour a sooner than expected move to Anfield, particularly after Leipzig were knocked out of Europe's premier cup competition at the group stage - although he would be cup-tied for the remainder of the competition.

However, they were quickly quashed by Liverpool Echo reporter James Pearce.

"In fact told there's been "no progression at all" following initial discussions."

The news sparked rumours that Keita was preparing for life in England.

A company under the name "NK8 LIMITED" has been registered on the Companies House website.

"We have always said that there's no reason to let Keita leave early and that's the way it will be". And in the summer he will be here, that's what I know.
