As "Wonder Woman" Gal Gadot received the #SeeHer trophy at the Critics' Choice Award, the actor kept alive the "Time's Up" spirit and called for gender equality.

A Lebanese journalist Heba Bitar commented on social media, "I love and respect Elie Saab, but is he really happy an Israeli actress wore a dress that he designed?"

It wasn't a surprise when the Lebanese cinemas banned Gadot's superhero film Wonder Woman.

Despite being erased, the Lebanese Twitter-sphere didn't forget the photo's brief existence and users continued to criticize the designer for his public praise of Gadot.

Gadot sparked anger in 2014 when she wrote a Facebook post backing Israeli troops during the Gaza War, which left more than 2,000 Palestinians dead.

"Wonder Woman' director Patty Jenkins presented her with the #SeeHer Award, honouring the actress for challenging female stereotypes on screen and off".

Hollywood actress Gal Gadot, who has been a strong advocate of feminism, has urged everyone to define themselves as feminist.

Hailing from Elie Saab's spring 2018 ready-to-wear collection, this simple gown features an asymmetric neckline, cut-out waist and flattering thigh-high slit.

Saab posted the photo of Gadot at the National Board of Review Awards in New York Tuesday, calling her "flawless" on Instagram. She did it for us.' Patty explained of Gal. It was reportedly blocked by the government because of the star's nationality and her support for Israel's army.

A fashion designer and an actress have become the unwitting faces of the political conflict between Lebanon and Israel.

Crowned Miss Israel, she then went on to serve the mandatory two-year military service in Israel.

She also pointed out that when she entered the industry, there were still only a handful of female-led movies and even fewer films with women as directors.
