Flight of the Conchords Special Debuts This May on HBO

Flight of the Conchords Officially Returning for HBO Special

It's business time: Flight of the Conchords are coming back to TV!

The network confirmed today that Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie will indeed come back for an hour-long special, which will air on HBO in May.

Are you ready for the return of Flight of the Conchords?

The upcoming special will apparently feature a selection of old Flight of the Conchords favourites, as well as new material.

It only ran for two seasons, but this was enough for it to gain a fierce cult following, especially in the United Kingdom where it was broadcast on BBC Two.

Their own original series, Flight of the Conchords, premiered in 2007 and aired for two seasons and 22 episodes, earning Emmy nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Clement.

The pair's Flight of the Conchords series ran for two seasons on HBO until 2009. McKenzie was the music supervisor for "The Muppets" (2011), which won him an Academy Award® for Best Original Song for "Man or Muppet", and "Muppets Most Wanted" (2014). Executive producers are Clement, McKenzie and Mike Martinovich. Good one Bret. The comedy special will be directed by Hamish Hamilton.
