There's a new patent out for Samsung featuring a smartphone with a screen that wraps around the edge and partly onto the back of the device, as discovered by LetsGoDigital. The patent was filed September past year but was only published today.
Samsung is also rumoured to be working on a true zero-bezel smartphone. Samsung has recently registered a patent, which reveals a smartphone sporting a wraparound display. This was originally submitted in 2015 in Korea and in 2016 in the US, before being published by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) yesterday.
Samsung Working On New 'Double-Sided' Display Smartphone
The drawings shows a menu of mobiles apps stretching from one side of the phone to the rear. But there is also a news that Samsung is working on a device with a double-sided display. The sketches show a single large touchscreen display that's rounded 180-degrees on the right side of the device. This looks more like a gimmick rather than a feature that users might actually utilize as its going to be very odd to hold the back of the phone without pressing on the screen.
Samsung has patented a dramatic new smartphone design which curves the display around the handset, placing some content on the back. The second screen of Meizu Pro 7 can be used to display notifications, time, weather and music.
