The supersonic jet departed from its base in the USA territory of Guam before joining two Japanese F-15 fighters and then took part in military drills on the Korean Peninsula along with Americans and South Korean fighter jets, Bloomberg reported.

"We now have no intent to initiate departures for military dependents, whether on a voluntary or mandatory basis, and no intent to modify the policy authorizing military dependents to accompany military members being stationed in South Korea", a spokesman for the Pacific Command, Navy Lt. Cmdr.

North Korea regularly threatens to destroy South Korea, the United States and Japan. Lindsey Graham's suggestion South Korea is now too risky to let American families remain there - and has no plan to begin evacuations, Stars and Stripes reported Wednesday.

The B-1B bomber and F-22 Raptors conducted simulated bombing drills, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported, quoting a statement from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, adding that several American F-35 stealth jets and F-16 fighters and South Korean F-15Ks and KF-16s joined the exercise at the Pilsung firing range in the northeastern Gangwon province.

But this time the drill coincided with a massive 230-aircraft joint exercise being held between South Korea and the U.S. nearby on the Korean peninsula.

The bombers were dispatched from Andersen Air Force Base in Guam and flew over the Korean peninsula, reportedly staging simulated bombing drills while flying in formation with around 20 aircraft participating in the annual "Vigilant Ace" air combat drill.

In recent months, US and South Korean troops have undertaken many exercises created to show North Korea of their military strength, although all appear to have failed to calm the rogue state's nuclear ambitions.

North Korea's state media confirmed the arrival of Feltman and his entourage late on Tuesday without offering more details. The operation in question has North Korea in mind and is aimed at practicing for any potential need to neutralize North Korean nuclear and missile targets.

The United States and South Korea deployed THAAD, a USA missile defense system, that is strongly opposed in Beijing.

"The South-North Korean relations are still not so good".

The military exercises, called "Vigilant Ace", are created to enhance joint readiness and operational capability of USA extended deterrence, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement. Feltman held talks with deputy foreign minister Pak Myong Gun on Wednesday.
