76ers Finally Trade Jahlil Okafor

Report | 76ers to trade Jahlil Okafor to Nets

Nets land Jahlil Okafor in stunning trade with 76ers

The move will open up a roster spot for Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas, both acquired by the Nets in a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.

With the talented young front court duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, Okafor became the odd man out for the Sixers and was no longer getting much playing time.

Okafor is clearly gifted, though, and there indeed exists a world in which he'll carve out a meaningful National Basketball Association niche over the course of his career. The Nets will also receive a 2019 second-round pick that originally belonged to the Knicks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Booker, by the way, could help the 76ers. The center played in just two games this season, seeing a total of 25 minutes on the floor, and made it clear he wanted out of town on numerous occasions.

Okafor, who has played in just two games this season, said last month he had asked the 76ers for a buyout because he wants to find a team where he "can play".

A first-team All-NBA Rookie team member following the 2015-16 season, Okafor averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 30 minutes a night in 53 games during his rookie season.

Booker, a seven-year veteran out of Clemson, is averaging 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds in 18 games.
