"Nigeria is my problem, " President Muhammadu Buhari, now on his first working visit to Kano, northern commercial city, has declared.
Others who received the President include Aliko Dangote, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, President of Azman Air, Alhaji Abdulmunaf Sarina. Buhari, while speaking in Kano, said that if the Elections were free and fair, he already has the people of Kano in his pocket.
"I am overwhelmed by the sea of people I see, And by what I see today, if elections are contested I will no doubt win it".
"If you educate people, you empower them".
He stated this at the palace of the emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, apparently in response to the mammoth crowd that gathered to welcome him to the state.
"Even going by the details of the election results in 2003, 2007 and 2011, it was very clear that nobody could even dare to rig my scores from the elections in Kano".
Following the courtesy call, President Buhari visited the Central Prison, Kurmawa, where he pardoned 500 inmates and made provisions for transport fares to take them back to their places of abode. "In the end, I also ended in jail", he said.
Buhari is expected to inaugurate some multi-billion naira projects including two general hospitals, underpass and a 21.1 kilometer dual road.
In his response, Governor Ganduje expressed optimism that Buhari would still visit the state in the nearest future and commission several other developmental projects embarked upon by his administration.
He also commended Governor Ganduje for the completion and upgrade of the hospital.
