Now, we may have just received the pricing of the two phones courtesy online retailer AliExpress. The retailer AliExpress has already listed the smartphone on its website before its launch with the price. The smartphones are set to succeed the Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4, and based on the images revealed, they will sport a new design language with slimmer bezels and an 18:9 aspect ratio.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A, dubbed as "Desh ka smartphone" by the company, starts at Rs 4,999 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. However, it may not be officially linked to the smartphone brand, so the pricing needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Both the phones will come in Black, Blue, Gold, and Pink colour options, it mentions.
In terms of rumoured specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 would feature a 5.9-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a 2160x1080 pixels resolution. The chipset will be Snapdragon 450 - a 14nm process unit with octa-core CPU and Adreno 506 GPU. The biggest USP of the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus is going to be the FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio, which is slowly becoming the new standard in all premium and budget smartphones. The phone is tipped to come in a choice of 2G + 16GB or 3GB + 32GB configurations. As per TENAA, Redmi 5 is expected to come with 1.8 GHz octa-core SoC.
The Redmi 5 is expected to feature a 3,200 mAh, while the Redmi 5 Plus is said to pack in a 4,000 mAh battery. It is also rumoured to house a 3200mAh battery. But even as it stays mum on the how much the handset will cost, a new leak has revealed what the Redmi 5 price might be. As a Plus model, it is tipped to sport a 5.9-inch Full HD+ (1080x2160) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will possibly launch in two variants of 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.
