The nomination papers of actor Vishal Krishnan and former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar for the December 21 RK Nagar by-election have been rejected by the Election Commission after they were scrutinised. They threatened my family members to claim that they haven't signed on your nomination affidavit and that their signatures have been forged.

A total of 145 persons had filed their nomination papers of that 72 nominations have been accepted and 73 have been rejected.

After heated debates with the police and election commission officials and a high-intensity drama, actor Vishal declared that his nomination had been accepted. "You can not even appeal before the District Election Officer or the Election Commission", the official said, pointing out that an election process can not be stayed by the court once it is notified. Both the candidates had filed their nominations as Independent candidates on Monday.

The forged signatures were allegedly of Deepan and Sumathi, two of those who had reportedly proposed Vishal's nomination. I submitted the audio conversation that revealed that the two were threatened. "We will get full details later.it is a quasi judicial process", the official said. ".there were some flaws in the nomination.it is an order passed by the returning officer", he said. He did not respond to further questions.

Just when Vishal's supporters were celebrating the supposed acceptance of his nomination, returning officer Veluchamy officially announced that he had rejected the nomination papers as Deepan and Sumathi had said they had not proposed his name.

"The fight is only between me, the AIADMK and the DMK", she told reporters. "Everything was investigated in the right manner and the EC has given its judgement".

He also added that he would now go to the constituency and meet the people, and undertake a door-to-door campaign from Wednesday. If something good has to happen, there will be obstacles.

Vishal heads the Tamil Film Producers Council and is the general secretary of the Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Artistes' Association).

The actor also thanked some Independents who were at the Returning Officer's office for extending their support after his papers were initially rejected.
