Due two weeks from today, December 20, Bridge Constructor Portal combines Headup's lighthearted engineering sim with Valve's masterpiece, as it "blends the laws of structural engineering and technology straight from Aperture Laboratories into an exciting new game experience, all under the demanding gaze of GLaDOS". A teaser for a new game has just popped up on the Internet.
In the game, players build bridges to grant safe passage to various vehicles while contending with a complicated physics system, gravity and the instability of their own creations.
In the announcement trailer we see a truck bearing the logo of scientific research facility Aperture Science crossing a bridge by driving off it into a portal that thing flings it over the perilous gap. You also have to make sure that your bridges are well-built and won't fall apart. well, to be honest, it's kind of fun to watch them crumble in the original Bridge Constructor, so. you know - we might run some rigged tests for scientific purposes! It's sure to be taxing, but yet we're also betting it's going to be amusing. The third game. eh.
Rumours circulated overnight that a new Portal title being revealed at The Game Awards. Putting portals into your designs, or possibly using gel in later stages, will certainly help create more challenging puzzles for players to solve.
How Portal came to be involved is now a mystery, and it seems as if news of the game was leaked early and this was actually meant to be an announcement at The Game Awards tomorrow. Most recently, protagonist Chell and the familiar Sentry Turret and Companion Cube were part of Lego Dimensions when it launched in 2015.
That's probably why there's only a single screenshot and the video above doesn't feature any gameplay.
