After several leaks, Microsoft has finally announced the release of Whiteboard Preview app for Windows 10 devices. It's designed for teams that need to ideate, iterate, and work together both in person and remotely, and across multiple devices.
Microsoft Whiteboard, a new creative collaboration app that Microsoft first demoed back in May is launching in preview today. Now even remote workers can easily join in and contribute to the discussion. Whiteboard is out of beta, but still in preview, so it's not quite the final version. The pen-first, touch-first technology lets you make fluid gestures with your fingers or draw out finer details with your pen. It also lets users add local or Web photos that they can turn into "stacks"; do Bing web searches and use the Whiteboard switcher to access different boards. The app automatically saves your boards making it easy for users to pick up from where they had left off.
We're truly excited for you to try out the Microsoft Whiteboard Preview as we think it will help you unlock creativity and harness the power of your teams.
The Microsoft Whiteboard Preview is now available in English and will roll out to more languages in the coming months.
The app is now available to download from Microsoft store and you can check the official demo video and features list below. It works on any Windows 10 device, and it allows multiple Office 365 subscribers to work on a document at the same time, across multiple devices. It looks like a pretty compelling app, and one that straddles the line between Microsoft's traditional work focus and its current push to recruit more creative types through its Surface line of products.
