Another match was added to the Clash of Champions pay-per-view show on December 17, 2017, and it'll feature Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn against Randy Orton and a partner of his choosing - yet to be revealed.
Shinsuke Nakamura joined forces with Randy Orton to take down Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
As was seen on WWE Smackdown Live, Shane McMahon announced a big main event for tonight's show.
As expected, WWE Smackdown kicked off with repercussions of last week's vicious attack on Randy Orton at the hands of Sami Zayn, during the No disqualification fight between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. While Shane wouldn't make use of that tool, he would announce a match for later on in the night: Zayn and Owens vs Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura at Night of Champions. However, Aiden English and Rusev were added to the match after defeating New Day Tuesday night.
After the dissolving of the Hype Bros, the Bludgeon Brothers had no superstars on the SmackDown Live Roster to squash. Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan further added that the main event of the evening will see Zayn take on Orton, while Owens will be tied to the ring post via a handcuff. The match would feature Dolph Ziggler, Bobby Roode and of course defending champion Baron Corbin. That wasn't all that Shane-O-Mac had planned however, as he also announced that Zayn would face Orton later on in the night...while Owens would be handcuffed to the ring rope.
Tuesday in the ring, however, Flair defeated Tamina, shortly before the riot squad showed up and cause even more chaos. This leads to a match at "Clash of Champions 2017".
Going for the Helluva Kick, Orton slyly countered that finisher into a sneaky roll-up pin, scoring a win and then facing off against the dastardly duo. With Orton naming his partner at a later date. At the end of the show, McMahon decided that he will be the guest referee and if Owens and Zayn lose, they'll be fired from WWE.
