The "Winter Siege" event will give players free Supply Drops, join 2XP playlists, play limited-time content, and collect special seasonal gear. Mixed in with those game modes is Gun Game, but it appears as though the game mode won't be sticking around forever.
Throughout the event, players will be given challenges in order to get specific rewards.
The Winter Siege event in Call of Duty: WWII now has a new trailer and plenty of information on how players can take part in Gun Game, new weapons, and much more.
Although I admit I'm not a terribly great shot, nor teammate, in straight up online multiplayer first-person shooters, I found myself dialing in big time when checking out Call of Duty WWII earlier in the year.
Themed events are coming to Call of Duty: WWII, and it all begins with Winter Siege.
Headquarters will be decked out in seasonally appropriate attire, and will welcome Captain Butcher who will be the new Quartermaster for the event. Multiplayer also delivers a new approach to character and create-a-class through Divisions, War, an all-new narrative multiplayer mode of play, and Headquarters, a first of its kind for the Call of Duty social community, designed for players to interact and socialise with friends.
Winter Siege Supply Drops can be purchased with real-world money, or earned in-game by playing.
In addition to the weapons, there will be new winter supply drops, replacing rare supply drops for the duration of the event. Instead, players can unlock a free variant of each weapon through Special Orders from Major Howard. Plus, log in each week to receive a free gift and learn about all the other ways to earn Winter Supply Drops.
You can see the full details on the Winter Siege event here along with images of all the new weapon variants before the community event begins on December 8.
