Apple is considering issuing affordable 9.7-inch iPad in 2018. That is a 20 percent rate drop from its current model that sells at $329.
It is expected that the main competitors in this section such as Samsung, Amazon, Huawei and Lenovo, will come up with available options to compete with the new iPad. Apple has recently claimed that the company has exported 10 million units of tablet every quarter of this year.
Apple has reportedly seen weakening sales for its iPad series, as demand for the overall tablet market goes down. Analysts have also predicted in the past that these markets are the future for Apple products, which is why a cheaper iPad next year could attract more consumers in these markets. In this case, Apple is considering the release of this model not only for ordinary users, but also industries and services. The report said a $259 is hard to imagine without sacrificing the gadget's performance or features.
The price of the new Apple tablet will be about 259 United States dollars, 70 dollars cheaper than the current model.
While there isn't an exact date of launch of the cheaper iPad, the report says that it could arrive in the second quarter of 2018.
For fans and anyone coveting an iPad at a more affordable rate, there is still a few months to wait to find out. Production will likely be outsourced to Compal Electronics with PCB orders going to Compeq and Unitech Printed Circuit Board. However, all the companies declined to comment on their orders or clients.
