The device was launched in India earlier this for Rs. 9,999. Later, the price was reduced to Rs. 8,999. Later, Asus gave it a Rs.1,000 price cut, bringing the price down to Rs.8,999.

Asus has announced a minor Rs.1,000 price cut for its budget ZenFone Live smartphone. The beautification feature allows users to tweak their appearance while livestreaming on platforms like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. It also has a 5-megapixel front-facingcamera with soft LED and 82-degree wide-angle lens. With the Asus ZenFone Live, it is possible for users to capture themselves in wide angle and broadcast the same to the world. For clear audio recording, the smartphone comes with dual MEMS microphones that support active noise reduction. There is a powerful and innovative five-magnet speaker with smart amplifier, DTS Headphone: X with 7.1 channel virtual surround sound over headphones.

Asus Zenfone Live ZB501KL sports a 5 inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS 2.5D Curved Glass Display. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

It comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera with an LED flash and f/2.0 aperture.

It bears a 2650mAh battery that's rated to provide up to 158.8 hours of standby time, up to 24 hours of 3G talk-time, and 17.1 hours of Wi-Fi browsing.
