42-year-old Ashok Kumar talks to the media after the release from Bhondsi jail on bail

The Punjab and Haryana High Court granted anticipatory bail Tuesday to the Pinto family, owners of Ryan International School.

Ashok Kumar, the school bus conductor who was initially accused of killing Ryan International School's class 2 student Pradyuman Thakur, will be released on bail from Bhondsi jail on Wednesday.

However, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) later claimed that a class 11 student was behind the murder, and not Ashok.

Bail granted on bond of Rs 50,000; truth has prevailed, says father.

The CBI counsel argued that Pintos' involvement in the Pradyuman murder case can not be ruled out. While pronouncing the order, additional district and sessions judge Rajni Yadav said that since the bus conductor was exonerated by the CBI and a juvenile was apprehended in connection with the crime, he was allowed bail as right to liberty under the constitution. "Police had done injustice to Ashok", adding that "As soon as the closure report comes, we will file the bail plea for Ashok and once he is discharged, we will file a defamation case against the police and the school management".

The family of deceased Pradyuman had accused the police of botching up the investigation and said the CBI meticulously collected circumstantial evidence and facts. "Haryana Police has tried to shield the real culprit and botch up the entire probe".

Pradhuman was found with his throat slit in the toilet of the school in Gurgaon, on September 8. Earlier in the day, Ashok was granted bail by a Haryana court.
