Despite their strong start to the season, manager Valverde has warned against complacency.

Valverde also confirmed that Luis Suarez is in good shape for the weekend after the striker sat out the worldwide break in order to focus on recovering from a long-standing knee problem.

Valverde told a press conference: "He's well, recovered".

Leganes' impressive defensive record has taken a bit of a hit recently, with the team conceding five of the eight goals they have let in this campaign in suffering defeats at Sevilla and Valencia in their last two outings.

Barcelona can go seven points clear of Valencia and 11 ahead of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid with victory against Leganes.

"We have a lot of games in the run up to Christmas in which a lot is at stake in all three competitions".

"In the future, we will see".

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone insists Antoine Griezmann's transfer talk isn't a problem for the club.

Having held a strong interest in the French worldwide during the summer, only a transfer ban in the Spanish capital preventer Manchester United from completing a deal to bring Griezmann to Old Trafford this season.

He said: "He's a great player, but I'm happy with the players I've got".

"We have good centre-backs", the coach said when asked if he was anxious about his options in defence. But that was a year ago.

However, Leganes' good work in the opening half hour was undone by a goalkeeping error when Ivan Cuellar limply palmed Paco Alcacer's driven cross into the path of the grateful Suarez to smash home his first goal for a month.
