The Greatest Showman will be released in theaters December 20, 2017.
Sometimes the world just needs a big, grand Hollywood fantasy to cap off the year and make us forget all of our problems, and this year The Greatest Showman is trying to be just that.
Hugh plays the "godfather of the circus", and Zac Efron is his business partner.
The cast also includes Michelle Williams (Manchester by the Sea), Rebecca Ferguson (The Girl on the Train), Paul Sparks (House of Cards), Keala Settle (Ricki and the Flash), and Gayle Rankin (The Meyerowitz Stories). Yes, that P.T. Barnum as in Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Whoever never got a chance to watch Jackman belt out tunes on Broadway (especially as Gaston from Beauty and the Beast) and also the fans like me who don't get the deep meaning of Les Miserables, will have a great opportunity to hear the Aussie sing.
The film has been a huge seven years in the making too, meaning that expectations are high, and by the looks of that trailer, they are definitely going to be met.
The visually enticing trailer showcases singing chops of Hugh Jackman. Inspired by the ambition and imagination of P.T. Barnum, "The Greatest Showman" tells the story of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a mesmerizing spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. He adorably labelled it "every girl's dream".
