"It is a government company", Rajiva Sinha, secretary to the state MSME and textile departments told newsmen here.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek on Monday sent a defamation notice to the state's newest BJP member Mukul Roy after the later leveled corruption allegations against him. The legal notice claims that Mr. Roy's statement with regard to the ownership of the "Bishwa Bangla" logo and Jago Bangla newspaper were "false". She is creator of the logo and we are the user.
Bhattacharya had yesterday said the "Biswa Bangla" brand and logo are registered in the name of the state government for use in many capacities.
From the beginning, it is now clear that Roy's political target in Trinamool Congress is none other than, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee. A senior state government official, requesting anonymity, said: "Abhishek Banerjee has withdrawn all his applications".
The Home secretary said that Biswa Bangla is not only a corporation or a logo. It is a 100% government owned company.
It must be noted that that Kamal Haasan who entered into politics two months ago also met Delhi's chief minister Arvind Kejrival in Chennai.
Roy marked his letter to Union minister of state Jitendra Singh, who looks into the personnel, public grievances and pensions department, saying their conduct needed to be referred to the Centre for enquiry and departmental action. "I heard of that the legal notice would be served to me". Multi-crore-rupee Saradha chit fund scam accused Ghosh, who was behind bars for over three years, also demanded explanation and clarification from Roy for receiving money from the entities which showed an improper balance between their income and expenditure in their respective balance sheet.
While Bhattacharya was unavailable to respond, Sinha said: "I would not like to comment on this now".
