The posters range from cinematic classics - Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Alien - to, appropriately, films from the zombie apocalypse genre's past, like The Omega Man and Night of the Living Dead. The event will stream on Facebook Live, Twitter, YouTube and the Mixer Xbox Channel. Microsoft will also carry the livestream on its Mixer platform on the Mixer Xbox Chanel.
The Walking Dead Season 8 premieres on Oct 23, same day as the United States, at 11.30am on FOX HD (Astro Channel 724), with repeats at 9pm.
The network intends to run one six-second commercial between its repeat of the prior week's episode and the start of the new one throughout the first half of the season, starting with its second week October 29.
Microsoft will be the first marketer to air six-second ads in AMC's "The Walking Dead".
AMC said it was expecting the unique spot to command a price tag close to if not higher than what it gets for 15-second spots.
The free-entry escape rooms are part of FOX Networks Group Asia's (FNGA) multi-city marketing stunt in celebrating the series' 100th episode and Season 8 premiere on Monday (Oct 23).
The livestream will begin at 4:30 p.m. PT Sunday.
