Following a tease back in August, Fatshark revealed the sequel to its popular co-op game Warhammer Vermintide, aptly titled Warhammer Vermintide II.
The Left 4 Dead-like dark fantasy extermination sim Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide was one of the happier surprises of 2015: Expectations weren't what you'd call universally high, but it turned out to be a really good game. Moreover, other new features include 15 hero careers, new environments, talent trees and the proprietary Heroic Deeds System. One of the biggest challenges is making the combat feel distinctly different when you're fighting a Skaven group or Chaos group. If you fall, so shall the Empire.
Players can expect to get their hands on Warhammer: Vermintide II in the first quarter of 2018. "If you liked the first game, you'll love the second", said Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund in a press release. Pre-ordering Vermintide 2 will offer access to the game's beta and a free copy of the upcoming Death on the Reik downloadable content for the first game. At the end of each mission, the improved loot system will grant you weapons, consumable quests, trinkets, hats, crafting material and more for your career path of choice, which you'll be able to progress through the new talent trees.
Interested folks can pre-order the game on Steam right now, with a swank 10 percent discount off the $29.99 asking price.
For now, we have a nice gameplay trailer for Vermintide 2 to enjoy.
