Getty Speculation has mounted over Antonio Conte's future

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte claims recent speculation linking him with a return as Italy boss is wide of the mark.

He said: "For two weeks I have been reading the wrong things". "We lived very close and we preferred to go [to Cobham] together every day with the auto, and after training I preferred to stay at home or take a taxi to go to a restaurant". They were also basically ignored, and the headlines crafted around the narrative the papers are trying to sell instead.

During the summer, Conte penned a new deal with the Blues that increased his wages but didn't change the length of the contract, causing many to believe that Conte may not remain at Chelsea in the long run. For now however, there is nothing to do worry about.

"Football is a drug and when there's a lot of pressure you think maybe a rest could be good for me, but when you have the rest you're feeling bad because you lack something". But I know very well my position, I have two years contract with Chelsea to go and I am very happy to work with this club and my players.

"This season I am very happy because they are with me, my daughter and wife, and for us it is a fantastic experience. I don't see a problem". My daughter is going to school here in Cobham'.

"Last season, honestly, I suffered a lot because when you arrive in a new country and you are alone and know that your family don't stay here it is not simple".

As Andre 3000 once said, I hope we do indeed feel this way forever.

"It is important to say the truth, my family stays here, not Italy".

"You know very well the importance of Kante in our team".
