A USA mum jailed for defying a court order to vaccinate her young son says she's outraged he's been given several immunisations while she's been locked away.
The Michigan mother sent to jail after refusing to comply with a court order to vaccinate her 9-year old son has more legal woes.
After Bredow said that she and her ex-husband agreed until recently on not vaccinating their child, the judge said that Bredow acknowledged in her own pleadings that he was up-to-date on his vaccinations when he was a year old.
"It's been a rough few days to say the least", she added. "I just found out that he was vaccinated and I'm not going to get him back today", she told the Washington Post.
After failing to follow through with the promise, an Oakland County judge last week sentenced her to five days in prison for contempt of court.
Her ex-husband, Jason Horne, chose to abide by the court order and had their son vaccinated on Monday.
"You have seven days to get your child vaccinated", McDonald said on September 27.
Bredow said that she could not bring herself to order the shots, while her attorney Vitale said that the pleadings McDonald referred to were filed in error by a previous attorney and that Bredow had never meant to consent to the vaccinations.
Judge Karen McDonald said the boy had two parents and "dad gets a say".
"It's clear to me that you don't care about orders even if you agree to them, which you did".
The recommendation will go into effect starting this weekend, but she has 21 days to appeal the Friend of the Court's decision.
"I feel angry. I feel backed into a corner".
