While this shouldn't affect him throwing the football, it does show that Brady is not 100 percent after all of the hits he has taken this season. According to the injury report, Brady did not practice again Wednesday, though he was spotted during the media portion of the practice.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Brady suffered an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder during a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday.

By video review, the second time Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers sacked Brady on October 1 could have caused a mild AC sprain on the left side. Last year, Brady was sacked 15 times in 12 regular-season games.

The way things have unfolded this year - with a season-ending knee injury to Julian Edelman, and then Malcolm Mitchell's troublesome knee landing him on injured reserve - it has thrust the 5-foot-11, 190-pound Amendola into more of a frontline role. Against the Panthers, he was sacked three times and hit seven times. He said he has learned to deal with the wear-and-tear over time.

"I'll be there Sunday", Brady said.

It might be a good idea to stash Patriots backup Jimmy Garoppolo if you have any type of roster room, however, as old man Brady is "due" to miss a game or two one of these days.

"I'm good", Brady said.

The Patriots are preparing to head to New Jersey this weekend, where they'll take on the Jets in a surprising battle for first place in the AFC East. "We've been in some competitive games, and we're going keep fighting. Since I've been here, that's something that we've prided ourselves on as a defense, is stopping the run", Williams said.

The Patriots have displayed a middling and relatively inconsistent ground attack so far this season.

One reporter offered a theory that Brady could be being hit more because he thinks he is more mobile at age 40 than he was earlier in his career.
