The sequence is a recreation of New Donk City from the game, where Pauline from the original Donkey Kong (no, that wasn't Princess Peach) is both the mayor and part-time lounge singer.

Just when you thought game trailers couldn't get any weirder than the all-singing, all-dancing Japanese promo for Destiny 2, Nintendo has released a musical video ahead of the release of Super Mario Odyssey (see below). But now that we've seen a hint of it, a Mario musical looks like it could be the best thing ever. For those who already own Amiibo, then every single Amiibo will work with "Super Mario Odyssey".

Join Mario and Cappy as they dance through the streets of New Donk City and embark on an all-new, massive, globe-trotting 3D adventure!
Nearly anything that the hat lands on becomes an extension of Mario himself, as seen by his signature mustache suddenly manifesting on the faces of his enemies, and a few inanimate objects.

The highly anticipated "Super Mario Odyssey" will come with amiibo support, but players won't have to worry about purchasing the figures being a requirement to progress in the game.

But also it's impossible to watch without falling into the existential question of what Mario is. Plus, there's a link in its description if you want to download the theme song to annoy/excite loved ones.
